Devaguru Bṛhaspati Center announces a course for study of the Śiva Mahāpurāṇa (SMP-I) to commence from June 19, 2014. The duration of the course is planned for 18 months. More information Highlights of SMP-I Course
The aim of the SMP-I course is to make an objective as well as spiritual study of the teachings of the great purāṇa covering the first two books of the Śiva Mahāpurāṇa as under.
- Mahātmya, the introduction which brings out the greatness of this purāṇa
- Book-1: Vidyeśvara saṁhitā
- Book-2: Rudra saṁhitā covering three of the five volumes viz. Sṛṣṭi khaṇḍa, Sati khaṇḍa and Pārvatī khaṇḍa.
The course includes a compulsory optional visit to the Himalayas for Mahā Śivarātri pujā of 2015 at Jageshwar, Uttarakhand, Himalayas. Read more about Śivarātri Pujā. Basically your presence is required in India for at least two weeks to cover the pujā and the course initiation (Part-A). Please note that we have not yet arrived at any decision about recordings, and are unlikely to have the contact classes recorded.
