CD01: Various Definitions
Kāla means time and the word puruṣa refers to the personification of God. Any personification needs the definition of space that is to be occupied by the body. The body of Kālapuruṣa is called Virāṭ (literally meaning huge) and refers to the entire manifested universe.

About Your Future
Futures studies (also called futurology) is the study of postulating possible, probable, and preferable futures and the worldviews and myths that underlie them. There is a debate as to whether this discipline is an art or science. Vedāñga also include such studies and it was hotly debated whether jyotiṣa as a vedāñga should merit inclusion in the science or arts stream by the Government of India.
Eight Sign Zodiac
This is an introduction to the eight-sign zodiac called Kālachakra.
1 Introduction
Aṣṭadala Padma (Eight petal lotus) is the foundation of Hindu philosophy. It is based on the Kālachakra (wheel of time), which is composed of eight spokes and has the 28 constellations distributed in these spokes. Each of these spokes is in one of the cardinal or intermediate directions and is reckoned starting from the east and moving in the clockwise direction.
Varuṇa: Guardian of West
Varuna (Sanskrit वरुण varuṇa) is the god of water and is always worshipped in a kalasha (water vessel) with the jala bija वं (vaṁ).
When the day is divided into two halves (horā) being the daytime and night time, then the two āditya presiding over these halves are Indra (day, Sun, dakṣiṇāyana) and Varuṇa (night, Moon, uttarāyana). These deities are also the guardians of the eastern and western quarters of the universe representing sunrise and sunset which divide the day into horā (half).
